Idiosyncrasies

I am not one to make resolutions, however I do tend to pay attention to some of my idiosyncrasies... I am NOT committed enough to do anything about them, but Tyler went to bed early tonight, and once my mind got started, I could not turn it off. I felt compelled to list them.

Sometimes I eat ice cream out of the carton… I drink way too much caffeine… I obsess over the Pottery Barn Kids catalog… I never eat breakfast… I am deathly afraid of failing or even getting a ‘B’… I compassionately hate peanut butter… My perfect career would be a full-time student (teaching is the next best thing)… I obsess over strollers… I love Tiffany box blue… I do not think childbirth was that painful... I’m very picky about my Starbucks coffee… I over-think everything… I hate it when people say irregardless (it’s not a word!)… I have always voted republican… I love jeans (good jeans)… and purses… and shoes… I can’t stand female sports casters… I despise emptying the dish washer… I can eat cereal for every meal… I love e-bay… I think being a food server should be mandatory for everyone… I never take out my contacts… I could not survive without TiVO… I love my family so much it physically hurts…

That better be expanded upon on 1 event-2 perspectives!

Listen, 'irregardless' of...I can't use it in a sentence, sorry!

I hate, 'that is a whole'nother issue'.

What is Whole'nother'????

Is is an entirely 'a whole other issue?'

You may as well call it a 'Hole Nother!'

This is why we get along. We have some basics we can get passionate about. But we also have things we can learn from each other. For instance, I would rather take a 'C' (or even a 'D'), and know that I have a working knowledge, and move on. You are stellar at getting it all down, and then teaching the teacher a little something s/he missed.

I'm not a Starbucks fan, or caffeine fan for that matter. I appreciate a good female sports caster, Michelle Tafoya is acceptable. You need to put the underlings down on the cold as **** field so the men can be in a warm booth upstairs and do their job.

Haha, that was a joke. I'm with you on the sportscasters.

Let ME talk on the Rachel Rey show, I'll screw that up just like a cute women on Monday Night Football. Equality is great, but know your limits. I do!

Child birth wasn't painful?...I'll hand you that. Women will hate you!

But if you want pain, I took a line drive to the 'area' from the only kid in AAA that put a ball over the fence, I didn't finish pitching batting practice that day.

Women, I know, it's hard being you, but you never got one in the n*ts, that is pain!

Last but not least, anyone that has never been a food server should have a 20% tip automatically added to their check!

Jackie, you nailed that one!

I love you and our family so much it hurts, I agree there as well. I was told once that you can pick your friends, but your stuck with your family.

I couldn't have picked a better family, especially you, Jackie. You are the best sister ever.

Even if you are an over thinking, stroller obsessing, cereal eating, dry eyed, peanut butter hating, caffeine fiend, and a little(or a lot!), OCD.

I thank God for blessing me with you.

I wouldn't trade you for all the money in the world.

Tyler and Bill are lucky boys to have all of your attention.

Happy New Years, and a great 2009!

Your brother,

Todd

Jackie,

I knew there was a reason why we had an instant connection! It's so weird, but so many of your obsessions/idiosyncrasies are mine! The "irregardless" thing drives me crazy, and if I could go to school forever and get A's in every class, I would. My next step will be my doctorite. We should go together:0). I love eating ice cream out of the carton, and I can't have enough "good" jeans, purses, or shoes. And the Tiffany's blue boxes and white satin ribbon... I can't even describe the embarrassing feeling I have when I see one! Your brother's post made me cry, as I love my sister and family that much too. Loving so deeply and making deep connections sometimes causes hurt and heartache because your empathy is so real it can cause physical symptoms and much worry. (That's what makes you so special though) And to top it all off, we both have "Tylers" upon which the the sun rises and sets. You are an amazing woman, and I love when you put your sense of humor and insight into your posts. You have inspired me to write, which along with positively affecting and inspiring others has been a life long dream of mine. I am actually starting my own blog because of you. Thanks for being you. You are doing an incredible job during this very difficult time. Stay strong and keep breathing deeply. Remember the rock on my desk that always gives me peace: LET IT BE, which translates to "Amen."

Love, Tamie
